How can I update an existing ActFax installation to a new version?
Answer
To update an existing ActFax installation to a new version, you have to download the latest ActFax release
from the Download Area and run the Setup then.
If you are using ActFax version 6.20 or newer, the fax server automatically checks for available updates. It is
also possible to manually check for updates through the menu Help / Check for Updates on the fax server.
Updates are automatically downloaded directly by the fax server in that case, so no manual download of the setup
file is required then.
All settings and data remain unchanged when you install the new ActFax release. Do not
uninstall the old ActFax version, since you would lose your existing settings and data in that case.
It is recommend to always update the software for the fax server and also for the single fax clients.
With a new license, software updates for ActFax are included for 2 years. The updates are
available through the Download Area on our website.
